Description
LOCATION: The grapes from Maison Pierre Sparr succ. come from carefully selected plots, spread over the Alsatian vineyard between Sigolsheim and Obernai.
HARVEST: The grapes are harvested by hand at optimum maturity.
VINIFICATION: The grapes are destemmed and placed in a maceration vat for about 15 days. The daily tasting of the vats allows pressing when the color and tannic structure are ideal. On leaving the press, the juices are put in stainless steel vats for the end of the alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. Our Pinot Noirs are kept in stainless steel vats to preserve their fruit and color.
TASTING NOTES: Beautiful garnet red color. Very seductive nose of wild berries with hints of chocolate and roasting. Beautiful aromatic complexity. On the palate, the wine is well structured with silky and ripe tannins. Very long on the palate, it has good aging potential.
FOOD PAIRING: Pair with a winegrower’s pie, a veal fillet with mushrooms
